Dieselpoint Turns DVDGo’s Brand Promise into Reality Online

Chicago, Illinois – March 18, 2008 – Dieselpoint, Inc., a leader in enterprise search software , announced today that Spain’s largest e-retailer of electronic media, DVDGo, selected Dieselpoint to be the search engine in its new web platform.

“We chose Dieselpoint because it provided excellent catalog search and superior flexibility over competitors,” explained Raul Garcia, Director of Ecommerce Technology at DVDGo’s parent company, Grupo Planeta. Dieselpoint was evaluated alongside Fast Search and Transfer and the Google Search Appliance.

“DVDGo offers fast 24-48 hour delivery times, and we wanted lightening-fast performance on the site as well. We did not expect this to be an easy challenge as we have one of Europe’s largest DVD catalogs.”

To complicate matters, new titles are added each day and need to be instantly searchable, so real-time updates and long-term scalability were essential. After testing Dieselpoint Search, DVDGo determined that the software delivered the sub-second performance, dynamic indexing and linear scalability they required.

Dieselpoint’s optional webservices architecture allowed it to work with both DVDGo’s .NET framework and its product catalog on the AS400. While other components of the larger ecommerce redesign are still being completed, Dieselpoint was implemented in under two months within this complex environment.
